August Faves*

Wait a minute… is it really end of August already? Like Woah, when did that happen?

Anyway, I was organising my closet room (yes, that’s a thing lol) and realised I have so many great products and services that I’ve recently tried and loved but haven’t had a chance to share them with you guys. Having said that, here’s a quick recap of my top faves for August!

• Bag of the month: These rattan bags have been very popular for a few years now and there’s a good reason why! They’re cute, lightweight, work well with pretty much every outfit and gives you all the summer vibes no matter the season. Amerii in particular makes this gorgeous braided design and other smaller and bigger ones as well for every taste. I only have it in its original color but I think I might need another rattan bag in black as well. Plus, they currently have a summer SALE going on! What do you think? I also love how they blend old traditions with fashion trends to create these beauties in Bali!!

• Everyday necklace: I’ve been looking for a dainty and elegant everyday necklace but hadn’t found anything I loved. Then, after walking so many times back and forth the ground level of QVB, I found this cute store with the most beautiful necklaces called ELVIE. I got to monogram them on the spot and now can’t take them off!
• Makeup Palette: Tiny but mighty, this cute little Natasha Denona $25 Mini Nude Eyeshadow palette is beautiful, so pigmented and I love that I can carry it in my bag for a quick retouch or unexpected date nights! I recently purchased the Nude one but seriously considering another trip to Sephora to get the Sunset and Coral ones as well.
• Makeup accessory: Makeup remover wipes can be convenient when you’re too tired to properly remove your makeup. However, they’re not the most eco-friendly for sure. I decided to try these Face Halo makeup removers a try and they’re seriously amazing! You just need a little warm water and mild soap to clean your face and leave you feeling fresh and ready to catch some Zzzz’s. They can be washed up to 200 times in a gentle cycle of your washing machine. How cool is that? You can also purchase them off Priceline with 20% OFF right now!
• Masking Time: Because what’s a #selfcaresunday without a good mask? I’ve been using these two Glow Recipe masks for a few weeks and love them. I only use these a few nights per week before going to bed. The oh-so popular Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask is what pink dreams are made of! It contains Hyaluronic Acid and gentle AHAs that reveal baby soft and glowy skin in the AM, plus it smells AH-MAZING! 🍉🍉The Avocado Melt Sleeping Mask has a beautiful texture and is especially good for that extra hydration and to firm the skin overnight 🥑 Definitely thicker than 🍉 mask so probably better for this winter weather!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Now I think it’s time to also add their Ultra-fine mist and 🍍-C bright serum to my skin care routine Currently available at Mecca here and here.
• Moisturiser: Fave moisturiser prize goes to Drunk Elephant Lala Retro™ Whipped Cream and its cool new packaging. I absolutely love everything Drunk Elephant but my combined to dry skin seriously loves this moisturiser because of how light and super hydrating it feels. As soon as I read they were renovating it, I just knew I had to try it for myself and oh, it did not disappoint! This all-purpose rescue cream has a nice airy texture (almost like a cloud) and it’s now formulated with added ceramides to protect the skin’s moisture barrier and prevent dehydration #yesplease
  If your skin is anything like mine and gets flaky and patchy after all the aircon-heater-crazy wind exposure between home and work, then girl, trust me on this one and order one already!
• What I’ve been reading: The Daily Stoic – I’ve been seeing this book everywhere so finally decided to buy it and start reading it. I feel like it’s a great book if you want to give meditation a try but can’t/don’t have time to give the full routine a try just yet. The fact that the pages are dated, makes it easier to follow and read one page every morning before work. Find it on Amazon or Dymocks.
• Can’t live without… my double wall vacuum insulated Thinketh Cup, perfect to keep your drinks hot or cold. I especially love it to keep my vino (or Bailey’s) cold while watching a Gossip Girl marathon on Netflix! Mine is the Cotton Candy color but they have other cute shades available as well that I’m sure you’ll  love 💗 .
• App I’ve used the most… Well, besides the obvious Instagram and Lightroom apps, I recently discovered this cool social ordering app called Ritual and have been using it pretty much every day ever since I downloaded it. Ordering is seamless, you can pay through Apple Pay in the app and get points with every purchase and cafe/restaurant review! They also have promotions frequently so you can spend more on skincare (obvi) and less in overpriced lunches! If you want to try it, make sure to sign up here to get $5 credit!
• Deal of the month: And last but not least, no one can resist a good deal! Harper’ s BAZAAR magazine included a clear TDE pouch for free on their August edition and it even came with a voucher you could take to the store to get complimentary monogramming. How cool is that? And yes, of course I had to get it in both colors #noshame
